Mark Lanegan anuncia la publicación de un nuevo disco para septiembre!

Lo de este hombre realmente es increible. Nadie lo diría con su aspecto, pero realmente su nivel de trabajo es brutal. Cuando aún tenemos fresco su fantástico trabajo "Blues funeral", y recién salido "Black Pudding" junto a Duke Garwood, se anuncia que para septiembre se espera publicar un nuevo disco de versiones titulado "Imitations". El recuerdo de su brillante "I'll take care of you" es inevitable, aquel disco es de los mejores que he escuchado nunca, a pesar de ser de versiones. En esta ocasión los temas elegidos son de algunos de sus artistas favoritos de la infancia, ni más ni menos que Frank Sinatra (y de Nancy también), Patsy Cline o Andy Williams, mezclados con artistas actuales como Nick Cave (una colaboración Cave - Lanegan sería la ostia, ahora que lo pienso), Greg Dulli o Chelsea Wolf.

Esto es lo que dice Lanegan en su web: "When I was a kid in the late sixties and early seventies, my parents and their friends would play the records of Andy Williams, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Perry Como, music with string arrangements and men singing songs that sounded sad whether they were or not. At home my folks were also listening to country music, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, George Jones and Vern Gosdin were some of our favorites. For a long time I’ve wanted to make a record that gave me the same feeling those old records did, using some of the same tunes I loved as a kid and some that I’ve loved as I have gotten older. This record is it. Imitations".
